HM Revenue and Customs have advised that the second and final grant for the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme will be available from 17th August 2020.

If you were eligible for the first grant and can confirm that your business has been adversely affected on or after 14th July 2020 then you will be able to make a claim. You can make a claim for the second and final grant even if you did not make a claim for the first grant (E.g. You are now adversely affected by COVID but were not initially during the start of the pandemic).

As with the first claim we as your Accountant are not able to make the application for you and you should log into your Government Gateway log in.  If you do not have a Government Gateway user ID and password then you will need to get this set up online with HMRC – please note you can do this now so you are ready for when HMRC contact. To do this please go on the following link https://www.gov.uk/log-in-register-hmrc-online-services/register

If you do need to speak to HMRC then please give them a call on their helpline on 0800 024 1222 which is open 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Please note that the only change compared to the first claim is that the second claim is restricted to 70% of your income, up to a maximum of £6,750.

If you have any other queries then please get in contact with the partner that normally deal with your accounts.
